Hi, I'm Steve Cobb. . My father was a Scoutmaster at the time of my birth so I can say that I've been a scout since I was born.

I worked for Kodak in Rochester, NY for over 27 years and when I got laid off in 1999 I had the chance to redirect my life. So I went to school at Paul Smith's College to get an Assoc. in Outdoor Recreation. Within a week of being there that invisible tattoo on all good scouts foreheads that says Will Volunteer got me on a committee to design a bachelor's program so I decided to stay a bit longer and after finishing both those degrees in 3 yrs I figured that this was way too much fun so went on to earn a MS in Recreation Administration.

After that I managed John Dillon Park, the only fully accessible wilderness park in the country for three years before moving on to be a Camp Ranger of the Girl Scouts in Michigan for a couple of years. Now I'm doing the same job for Camp Wise, a Jewish resident camp outside of Cleveland.

Hi everyone. Here's the basic idea of what your first post should be when you join the Group.

I'm Tim Bongard, Council Ranger for Northeastern Pennsylvania Council (that covers the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton / Honesdale region of PA. I cover Goose Pond Scout Reservation just outside of Hamlin and Camp Acahela in Blakeslee, PA where me and my family live full-time. I've been in Scouting for over 20 years, was a Life Scout in Troop 57 in Roselle, NJ (Union Council, now part of Patriot Path Council). I have 5 kids, 4 girls and a boy, but the oldest are already out on their own, so we have only two teens left in the next - both serve on camp staff here at Acahela.

This website is part of a Professional Leadership Project for a degree in Leadership I'm completing through Grand Canyon University.
